As most Americans tend to do, I made a few goals for myself in the spirit of the "New Year" and called my resolution list. So far, I've been doing very well and would hope to keep it up. I realized last year that I'm the type of person who works to live; not someone who lives to work. Because I thought I lived to work, my stress level was astronomical most times. Thanks to love, family, and patience, I am surprisingly calm lately when approached with some bullshit-type fuckery...most of the time. But anyway, I thought I'd maybe share my "resolution list" with you..No reason in particular. Just kind of a conscious write-down of my goals I guess. I heard writing goals down is supposed to help you stay on track. I don't know if they meant repeatedly or just a one-time scribble but uhh...any way lol without further ado...
*Pay off personal loan(s)
*Pay off car loan(s)
*Floss and brush teeth twice/day
*Exfoliate my feet and armpits at least twice/week
*Dedicate 1 hr of my day to creative activity (including, but not limited to blogging)
*Watching less than 8hrs of TV/week
*Avoid fast-food like the plague
*Prepare all of my meals from scratch
*Make an effort to spend more time with friends
*Introduce Shabazz to all of my close friends
*Remove and consume boogers in private instead of in public settings
*Spend more time with the girls
*No direct heat on my hair
*Finding another friend whose interest or similar to mine but won't drag me down
*Finding a school to attend
*Successfully master the art of "Couponing"
*Stick to my budget
*And last but not least..I refuse to give 2 fucks about anyone trying to prohibit me from reaching any or all of my goals.
So far, so good actually. I found that I love to cook...made these bomb ass tuna burritos the other night...oh, and I'm also only drinking water. I'm not drinking fruit juices or milks but instead, I'm going to just eat the fruit or have some yogurt or cheese or a veggie...At first, I wasn't feeling my ew diet too much but I feel so excited to be comfortable while sticking to my goal. My current employer tried me the other day (what's new in middle-class America?) and I just about lost it but I am better than that. At least for now I am lol. I'm taking some subliminal advice from my sister and I'm making sure I have a good day according to my interpretation, not based on what other people might do to try and ruin that for me. That's a really beneficial mind-set to start your day with. It's interesting how a conscious effort to have a decent day can affect your reactions, conversations, attitude, everything. I guess I figured I should be straight if I slowly but surely just kinda detach myself from all the drama.
I was in a 3-day training and while in the training, I realized that my job is doing everything absolutely incorrectly. This is the root of the confusion in this place; not me, not my boss, not "protocol", not policy, not the pay rate or the decreased benefits...Just simple ass confusion and disarray. Can I get a AMEN? It's not me! I'm not alone, and everyone else knows that this place is stressful and not ideal for employment as far as sanity goes. So with that, knowing my work conditions, I will make the very best out of every day...especially when I really don't give a damn to be (t)here. And you should do the same...Trust me on this one, ehn?
