I've always wondered why it seems to be impossible to communicate in the wee hours of the morning with someone of the opposite sex. Is it bizarre for me to want to reflect on life with someone in my age range and discuss ways for us to get out of our fucked up situations without becoming another enraged black youth? It always seems to be about sex, lust, how inebriated you may or may not be, or how much you hate someone else who is technically just like you: into the superficial amenities of life, working minimum wage or selling some sort of highly illegal contraband, blowing money and promises you'll never keep just to listen to yourself for 3 minutes in a recording booth about how pissed you are at the police because they caught your ass, damning your body to a life long struggle for survival by filling your system with highly toxic fruity beverages and candy-colored drugs...
What the fuck is wrong with us?
I'm sure these have been issues in communities across the nation but at least, at some point in time, it wasn't considered the norm.
This past week, I've encountered every enticing sin you could possibly imagine and met people who were worse off than i am and shunned me for even being in the same room with them. My experience, although much too graphic and damaging to fully discuss in detail, completely made me aware of how stupid I'm not...or how stupid I've never been, rather. Of course we all have our "moments" growing up but the moment should remain at just that: a moment in time where you realize "what the hell am i doing in this predicament" and then you fix it...and maybe, just maybe you'll "find yourself" for a while and then meet an idiot youth who hasn't had their "moment" yet that is more than OK with making you their fellow idiot youth. That's your subliminal chance to help this helpless child to experience their "moment"...don't get fucked up WITH them...almost every cycle a human can experience is much easier going forward than it is going backwards. And this is probably exactly where the problem started...no one thought that they should share their "hmm...this shit is (nasty/rude/illegal/unholy/unheard of/improper/inappropriate/news worthy/harmful/etc..),maybe i should warn my friends about it" moment with other people in similar situations. Greed and jealousy, consuming the naive minds of these silly "90's kids" faster than Jared with a subway supreme sandwich...
The role models accessible to us are either butt naked, covered in neon weaves and make-up thicker than Mississippi clay or selling dreams of hopeless drug trafficking, drinking alcohol like kool-aid, having "harmless" excessive sex with random obsessive girls who stalk their way to fame...who the fuck set this up and why is it working so well??
I was thinking that maybe the government picked out a few losers from youtube to be put in the lime light as an example to encourage the young people to be idiots too, and maybe they can be rich for no damn reason one day if they get into enough trouble, smash enough girls, sell enough coke, smoke enough weed, kill enough people. The celebrities we all worship and look up to could be the very ones rinsing the common sense right out of our system and because they are our entertainment, what else is there for us to look at? Don't even have to be forced to be brainwashed? What? And once we start participating in the activities we hear about, we get hooked because of course you can "relate" to the music. Those are the same people who sang your way into a system you can never completely get out of. When your 30 years old sitting in jail for life, do you think Boosie's going to be walking around screaming "Free (insert desired name here)?" Hell no, he wont. You think Nicki Minaj is going to be there to explain to your daughter's principal why she's trying so hard to be a "bad bitch" at the age of (insert innapropriate age [1-17] here)? Sure won't.
I think my generation is doomed...and the worst part is only a few of us have figured it out...
